Remember that he fought Paul on creativity on songs, rhythms, lyrics & criticized Paul's song on "Yesterday" John wouldn't even allow George any say or input, then comes Yoko who John listened to! She wasn't a musician, she couldn't sing & she was tone deaf but yet John gave her a platform while dismissing his bandmates inputs. This pissed off Paul, George & Ringo. Yes, John asked Yoko to the recording sessions, but she could've said no! She should've realized that their dynamics & relationship as a band were fragile & should've known better. Yoko was the straw that broke the camels back!

It's a heartbreaking tune - the commentary on Father McKenzie more aptly describes a man in despair, who has lost faith but in delusion still clings to convention...

It's normal for artists to do that to the other artists around them, I would think. It comes with the territory. John Lennon was naive, apparently. I think Rubber Soul does mark the change from early Beatles to late Beatles. Rubber Soul is the collision point where the two meet, Revolver is firmly on the side of late Beatles, IMO. Great vid.

The medley is indeed a fabulous and a VERY Beatles thing to do, but John later saying he didnt like it is also a really John thing to do.

I don't discount Patti's sharing with George but I would like to add David Crosby pointed George in the the direction of Ravi Shankar in 1967 which really connected him to eastern mysticism. Take that a step back and It was David's brother Ethan that turned George onto Coltrane and Ravi.
